news aggregation, from sources to publication

see the world the way you want

overview

nanorolf is software developed by OBLIQUID that turns topics of interest into a complete, automatically published news website.

Starting from prompts describing a topic, a place or a perspective, it discovers editorial sources, collects recent articles and uses AI to group reports about the same event. It then creates headlines and summaries, adds images and publishes a static web page with links back to the original reporting.

Discover

Find relevant news sources for each configured topic and collect recent articles from their homepages and sections, filtering out old items and duplicate links.

Connect

Bring together articles covering the same story across different publications. Generate a shared headline and concise summaries, while keeping the source articles available to readers.

Publish

Generate the website, including topic sections, images and reading controls, and upload it automatically. Scheduled runs can keep the published edition up to date.

features

The same story, different ways to read it.

  • A reading experience with a twist
  • Readers can switch between summaries written in different tones, such as neutral, optimistic, pessimistic, indignant or conspiratorial. The underlying group of source articles remains the same.

  • Each story retains references to its original articles and sources, so readers can go beyond the generated summary and compare the reporting.

  • These are AI-generated interpretations, not independent verification of the news. A change of tone is a stylistic lens, not additional evidence; original sources remain essential.

  • An automated publishing pipeline
  • Configure multiple topics in one edition, along with branding and summary styles. Stories are ranked using the number of articles and distinct sources covering them.

  • Generate or reuse AI illustrations for leading stories and render a static HTML website with its images and assets, ready for automatic FTP publication.

  • The Python pipeline connects source discovery, article collection, AI processing and web publishing. It can use locally hosted models or OpenAI-compatible APIs for text generation.
